Introduction
I started a local vegetarian group in 2005 to facilitate connecting with veg*ns in the area. We started small, but are growing into a great community of support and inspiration, now called the Western maryland Veg Life MeetUp!
How would you describe your current diet/lifestyle? (ie. vegetarian, vegan, raw foodie, gluten-free, junkfood addict, etc.)
I eat a high raw, vegan diet. I arrived here after a long journey from being overweight, unhappy and unhealthy, to a place of more balance and contentment... but, I'm still a work in progess, and love the support and inspiration I get here!
Do you have any specific health-related interests you'd like to learn more about or share with the group?
As a group organizer, I'm happy to share the story of my weight-loss and health journey via the path of a plant-based diet, as well as, to facilitate potlucks, discussions, movie nights, and more. Please share your ideas and suggestions!

Tara, Just wanted to let you know about a raw/raw-friendl
y restaurant near Hagerstown. You say that there are none, but there is one close by in Greencastle, Pa called Pure And Simple Cafe. Yummy food! They're having seminars and movie showings in Jan starting Sat Jan 7 at 10-12:30, then Wed nights at 7:00. I will be one of the speakers at the Jan 11 meeting on Detox. -

Great Tara! Thanks for the info. Glad to hear about the gluten free. At least I'll be able to sample a few things too. Sometimes I get tempted to eat things I shouldn't at potlucks otherwise. Hoping to make the one on the 24th.
